LAMBORGHINI

The legendary brand began its journey to fame 50 years ago. Then its creator Ferruccio Lamborghini was the owner of a company that was engaged in the production of agricultural machinery.

The emblem of the enterprise was a golden bull. Despite the profitability of the company, Ferruccio dreamed of something else. He really wanted to create the best sports car in the world, because none of the cars he saw satisfied him with its quality and technical characteristics. At that time, this dream seemed wild and unrealistic to others, because Ferrari was the “queen” of sports cars. This is where the history of Lamborghini began.

Ferruccio bought himself two Ferrari cars, because he was an avid car lover, but it turned out that they did not suit him in terms of their driving characteristics.
He told Enzo Ferrari about this, which he replied that a farmer who builds a tractor cannot give advice to a man who, besides being a racer, has also been a sports car designer for more than one year. This stung Ferruccio and he replied to Enzo, which will build a much better car than his Ferrari.

1963 was remembered for the Turin Motor Show. There, a trial sample of the first Lamborghini car, the 350 GTV, was demonstrated to the public. The car was equipped with a 347-horsepower V-12 engine with a volume of 3.5 liters. It was a luxurious 2-seater coupe. 350 GTV could reach speeds of 280 km / h. In just 6.7 seconds, it accelerated to 100 km / h.

By the end of the year, the new company presented the Lamborghini 350 GTV at the Turin auto show. On the radiator grille of the car there was an emblem with a bull. A successful debut proved that Ferruccio Lamborghini can make cars no worse than Enzo Ferrari. Despite the production of competitive models and interest in them from buyers, the global crisis, as well as an unsuccessful attempt to cooperate with South America to sell tractors, led to a shortage of funds. Ferruccio Lamborghini sold his shares in the tractor factory, and since 1972 the Lamborghini automobile brand began to acquire new shareholders. The first was the Swiss industrialist Georges-Henri Rossetti, the rest of the shares were acquired by Rene Limière, then the owners began to change frequently.

Two years later, the owner changed again, it became the American corporation Chrysler. It was during this period that Lamborghini regained its first position in the market, which was facilitated by the correct approach of management. Much attention was paid to the modernization of production. A new Lamborghini Diablo model was created. In 1994, business was taken over by Indonesian industrialists, and four years later, by Audi AG. The new management played an important role in the further history of Lamborghini. The design of the model range has changed - it began to correspond to the lifestyle in the modern world. The Lamborghini Murciélago supercar came out in 2001, bringing the company back to its former glory. The car showed excellent technical characteristics along with a stylish, modern design.

The design of this car was developed by the Belgian Luc Donkervolk. For the first time, it was not an Italian who did it. Murcielago received rounded shapes, which led fans of the brand to sincere admiration. The new car, in comparison with the previous model, has become more comfortable and received a fairly spacious interior. The engine had 12 cylinders and a volume of 6.2 liters. The car was able to accelerate to 330 km / h. After this model, the tiny Lamborghini Gallardo appeared, which pleased with the successful combination of compact size and excellent technical capabilities. In 2003, the L140 model was released, which gained worldwide popularity.
